As the first German company having been certified to ISO 9001 (in 1986), HBM has always developed its products in line with international quality standards.

In 1977, the HBM calibration laboratory was the first in Germany to be accredited by DKD (German Calibration Service, today: DAkkS). HBM calibrates measuring instruments for different measurement quantities to customer order, guaranteeing traceability as required by ISO 9001.
In 1991, the HBM Test Laboratory for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) was one of the first to be accredited in Germany. Alongside testing HBM's own products, the laboratory offers its services externally to customers, such as accomplishing the required tests to obtain CE certification.
HBM's environmental management system has been certified to ISO 14001 since 1996. This underlines the company's achievement and continued determination to act in an environmentally responsible way.
In May 2015, HBM's energy management system was certified to ISO 50001.
